LA Dodgers catcher Dalton Rushing has denied directing a curse word at San Francisco Giants' Lee Jung-hoo during their April 22 game, according to Chosun.
The controversy arose after a clip showed Rushing appearing to shout 'FXXX' toward Lee, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the Giants' 2-0 win at Oracle Park.
Rushing explained: 'It was absolutely not directed at Lee Jung-hoo. I was frustrated with myself after a play.' He added he respects Lee as a player.
Lee, 26, started as the No. 6 hitter and right fielder, recording two hits before being replaced in the 8th inning. The Giants lead the series 1-0.
The Dodgers did not comment further. Fans online remain divided, with some accepting the apology and others calling for MLB to review the incident.
Lee has been a key contributor for San Francisco this season, batting .287 with 4 home runs entering the game.
