Korea produces its own botulinum toxin brands: Nabota (Daewoong), Meditoxin (Medytox), Jetema, and imports Bocouture, Botox. Choosing matters for results and safety.
Nabota: Korea's most exported botox. Equivalent to Allergan Botox in efficacy studies. Often $5–8/unit at clinics. Common for forehead, glabella, crow's feet.
Meditoxin: Longer-standing Korean brand. Had FDA issue 2020–2023 (license revoked, restored). Now back to standard use. $4–7/unit.
Bocouture: German import (Merz). 'Clean' botulinum (no complexing proteins), preferred by celebs for natural look and longer effect. $8–12/unit.
Typical treatment: Forehead 10–20 units, glabella 15–25, crow's feet 10–15 per side, masseter (jaw slimming) 30–50 per side. Seoul total: $100–400 per session.
Important: Always ask for sealed vial opened in front of you. Watered-down or black-market botox is a real risk at discount clinics. Top dermatology chains: Oracle, Lim's, Dermaster, Piena.
